In a tough move, Infosys has reportedly terminated 240 fresh trainees after they failed to clear internal assessments. These assessments are part of the company’s standard onboarding and training process for new recruits, usually conducted after freshers join from campus placements.
This is the second time this year that Infosys has taken such action. Earlier in 2025, the IT giant had also let go of a batch of trainees for the same reason. The company says it uses these assessments to ensure new hires meet technical and performance standards before they join live projects.

The company has partnered with NIIT and UpGrad to provide free upskilling programs for the impacted individuals. Additionally, Infosys is offering outplacement services to help these trainees find new job opportunities elsewhere. This includes resume building, interview prep, and connections with other recruiters in the tech space.
